The foundation of Teamlink programming has been the services we have provided for corporations and professional groups. From large, publicly traded Fortune 500 companies to the staff and faculty of small public school, our programs always have a memorable significant and positive impact on the participants.. but most of all, they are FUN!
A menu of the programs we conduct for corporate and professional groups includes:
The baseline for all other programs, these activities are appropriate for all staff, from CEO to facilities maintenance. From simple verbal communication challenges to complex asset management problems these are activities developed by us for their effectiveness, fun and applicability to “professional behavioral demands”. Generally lasting from 4 to 6 hours, these activities focus on the way work groups relate to each other both as individuals and as a group collectively. Normally, T1 Challenges are stand alone training days designed to focus on all aspects of work group / team development.
The results from both newly (re)organized and long established work groups are the same. The activities are memorable, fun, meaningful and typically move team cohesiveness ahead by weeks if not months. Highly portable, appropriate for both indoors and outdoors. This training can be held at our site or at yours.
These are much more focused activities than the T1 Challenges. They range from simple warm up activities (such as meeting openers) to specific task improvement activities (concrete verbal communication/expression). T2 challenges generally last for only an hour or two and are typically designed to enhance the outcomes of a business development meeting or retreat. (example: A nation-wide restaurant chain was changing the entire menu on the same day. It was imperative that the menu change was flawlessly executed. They employed one of our T2 challenges to make sure everyone was communicating as absolutely effectively as possible across the entire management hierarchy. The menu changed smoothly.)
Working in small groups (in a new and scenic/historic location), competing with others, solving puzzles and codes, seeing everything and everyone in a new way.. and having an immense amount of fun! We have pioneered treasure hunt/T1 corporate challenges across the U.S. Frederick MD, San Francisco CA, Harpers Ferry WV, Seattle WA, Gettysburg PA.. typically lasting for a full day and ending with a group dinner, this is a great way to build teams and spirits.
These are a natural! Working with our staff from Shenandoah Mountain Guides, these adventure challenges are perfect for corporate outings and team growth… the training and outcomes are similar to our T1 programs, but the experience is not as “skill focused”. The training is part of a journey of adventure!
Paddling the rivers in the Shenandoah, Potomac and Rappahannock River watersheds is a low impact way to build team bonds. Working together to enjoy a river journey.. whether it is a lazy day trip or an overnight whitewater journey…there may be no better way to develop an appreciation for each member of your group. (Limited to 20 participants, April thru October.)
Requiring more trust than muscle, this is much more of a psychological challenge than a physical challenge. The bonds of trust, anxiety and shared challenge build camaraderie that is legendary. Not a huge physical challenge, it does require a positive spirit and adventurous attitude. (Limited to 20 participants, April thru October)
Clambering up and then down canyon walls, waterfalls, boulders and pourovers, rappelling into and then swimming the cool clear waters of the Allegheny highlands where few have swum before, surmounting obstacles with the help and support of your crew… “maybe one of the best team building challenges in America” according to one of our clients. This is one of the our activities that requires a pretty good level of physical ability and swimming skills. (Limited to 6 participants and the months of May – September)
A guided hike to a remote Blue Ridge summit is another low to medium impact way of building camaraderie and team spirit. Our guides can help you select the perfect mountain, route and time (sunrise, midday, sunset, moonlight) for your trip. (Limited to 30 participants, year round* based on weather)
A more adventurous experience ranging from the back country Blue Ridge/Allegheny roads to the single track of the Catoctin and WV high country. (Limited to 8 participants, May thru November
Want to do more than one adventure? How about our camp for adults! With accommodations and meals at Skyland (3,600’ high in the Blue Ridge) Shenandoah National Park is the perfect base for this adventure camp! Your group can tailor its own “camp” experience to include rock climbing/rappelling, mountain biking in GW National Forest, paddling in the Shenandoah, Potomac and Rappahannock River watersheds, exploring wild caves, canyoneering in the East’s best waterfall-filled canyons, moonlight hikes to remote mountain summits and therapeutic massage and campfires to end the day.. Typically lasting from two to four days, this is an amazing experience for your team. (Limited to 12 participants, April thru October)
